Yildiz Technical University and YTU Yıldız Technopark, which opened its doors to special guests within the scope of December 3 World Day of Persons with Disabilities activities, hosted 80 students from Duha Special Education and Rehabilitation Center with the presence of YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar and hosted by YTU Rector Prof. Dr. Eyüp Debik. The event was full of joyful moments, from movie screenings to surprise gifts.
YTÜ and YTÜ Yıldız Technopark organized a meaningful event that raised awareness within the scope of December 3rd International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Organized within the framework of the vision of social contribution and inclusion, the event hosted 80 students with special needs from Duha Special Education and Rehabilitation Center at YTU's Davutpaşa Campus, which is intertwined with history and nature.
The meeting, which was attended by the President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, was held at YTU Yıldız Technopark, the innovation base of the university. The little guests, who were welcomed with warm attention from the moment they stepped onto the campus, enjoyed socializing and breathing the campus air with activities throughout the day.
Cinema Enjoyment and Surprise Gifts
In the event area specially prepared for children, popular animated films were shown. After enjoying the movie theater, gifts were distributed. The happiness of the children who received their toys from the hands of YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar and university administrators added color to the historical atmosphere of the campus.
Our YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar and YTÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Eyüp Debik, who took a close interest and chatted with the little ones, underlined that this meeting is an awareness movement and emphasized that the main purpose of the organization is to support the active participation of individuals with special needs in social life. Children with special needs presented flowers to Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, President of the Council of Higher Education, and the President of the Council of Higher Education presented flowers to each student.
